Behaviour Support

Evidence-based, person-centred behaviour support that focuses on understanding, prevention, and positive strategies.

What is Specialist Behaviour Support?

Specialist Behaviour Support is an NDIS-funded service delivered by qualified practitioners who assess, understand, and address behaviours of concern. The goal is never to simply manage behaviour, but to understand the reasons behind it and develop positive strategies that improve quality of life for participants and those around them.

Our behaviour support practitioners use evidence-based frameworks to conduct thorough functional behaviour assessments. These assessments look at what is happening in a person's life, environment, and support systems to understand why behaviours of concern are occurring.

Based on these assessments, we develop comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) that are practical, respectful, and focused on enhancing the person's life rather than just reducing behaviours.

All of our practitioners are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and operate within the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.

Person-Centred

Every plan is built around the individual, their preferences, and their goals.

Evidence-Based

We use proven frameworks and current research to inform all strategies.

Rights-Focused

We uphold dignity, minimise restrictive practices, and protect human rights.

Ongoing Review

Plans are regularly reviewed and adjusted based on outcomes and progress.

Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration

We work alongside allied health professionals, support coordinators, and families to ensure a consistent, team-based approach.

How Behaviour Support Works

Our structured approach ensures thorough assessment and meaningful, lasting outcomes.

1

Referral & Intake

We receive a referral, review the participant's NDIS plan, and schedule an initial meeting.

2

Functional Assessment

Our practitioner conducts observations, interviews, and data gathering to understand the behaviours.

3

Plan Development

A comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support Plan is developed with input from the participant and their circle.

4

Implementation & Review

The plan is implemented with training, monitored for progress, and reviewed at regular intervals.
